This Stanford Paper called “The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine” was written by the founders of Google, Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page. At the time of their research, there was no search engine of the stature they were trying to reach. Their goal was to produce a websearch system that could “crawl and index the Web efficiently and produce much more satisfying search results than existing systems”. Read more….
